VENTURE CAPITAL > INVESTMENT PHILOSOPHY
The foundation of our firm’s investment strategy is anchored in working with high-potential management teams that we believe have the vision and capability to disrupt established markets or create new ones with fresh ideas, breakthrough innovations, and unconventional approaches.
Cultivating companies with new entrepreneurial business concepts, recruiting management, laying out a business plan, and facing daily operational challenges is a unique experience in and of itself. We believe that our ability to meaningfully contribute to a company's development is just as important as the capital we invest. As a result, we seek teams and projects that offer us the chance to put our experiences, knowledge, and networks to work to accelerate achievement for management teams. We understand the difference between making productive contributions to a portfolio company's development versus overextension into operational issues best left to a company's management team. As a result, we are always actively engaged in helping to chart and support our companies' objectives, but are cautious not to overstep sensitive boundaries. Our goal is to be seen by our portfolio companies as an extension of their team which is rigorous in setting high expectations yet supportive in helping to achieve those objectives.
We also believe that being a good partner requires active engagement in the company-building process and that investors should work to deliver insight, innovations, and assistance. We are not satisfied with a best-efforts or ad hoc approach to supporting our management teams and do not think that our portfolio companies should be either. In short, we work to leverage our firm's operational experience, domain knowledge, and industry relationships to help our portfolio company management teams execute on the critical determinants of their success. |
